July 28, 2026: Global energy prices traded lower on Tuesday, with WTI crude oil and Brent crude extending weekly losses, while natural gas remained under pressure. However, most energy commodities continued to post strong gains on a monthly and year-to-date basis.
WTI Crude Oil fell 0.78% to $81.39 per barrel, while Brent Crude declined 0.77% to $87.25 per barrel. On a weekly basis, WTI was down 3.47% and Brent slipped 4.11%, reflecting continued profit booking in global oil markets.
Natural Gas declined 0.17% to $2.74 per MMBtu, extending its weekly loss to 4.36%. The commodity remained under pressure with a 13.86% monthly decline, 25.66% drop year-to-date, and 12.79% loss over the past year.
Among refined fuels, Gasoline eased 0.31% to $3.32 per gallon, while Heating Oil fell 0.48% to $4.09 per gallon. Despite the day's weakness, both commodities remained sharply higher over the longer term, with gasoline up 94.17% year-to-date and heating oil gaining 92.69%.
