The Rajasthan government has officially renamed the Government Senior Secondary School in Khivandi village, Pali district, after Martyr Flight Lieutenant Rishiraj Singh Devda to honour his supreme sacrifice for the nation. The announcement was made during a commemorative event held on the martyr's remembrance day, where a voluntary blood donation camp also collected 121 units of blood.
The ceremony was attended by Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, and Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Otaram Devasi, who paid floral tributes to the martyr's statue and portrait. Blood donors were felicitated with certificates and mementoes, while school students presented patriotic cultural performances.
Speaking at the event, Joraram Kumawat said the decision to rename the school as "Martyr Rishiraj Singh Devda Government Senior Secondary School, Khivandi" was approved by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma in response to the long-standing demand of local residents and public representatives. He described the move as a tribute to the martyr's sacrifice and thanked the Chief Minister on behalf of the people of the region.
The ministers also honoured the martyr's family, including his mother Bhanwar Kanwar, father Jaswant Singh Devda, and brother Yuvraj Singh Devda, for their contribution and sacrifice.
