Jaipur, March 24, 2026: In response to rising temperatures and heatwave conditions, the district administration in Jaipur has launched the ‘Parinda Lagao, Parinda Bachao’ campaign to ensure water availability for birds and small animals.
The initiative was formally inaugurated by District Collector Jitendra Kumar Soni, who installed a traditional water pot (parinda) at the Collectorate premises and urged citizens to actively participate.
Aim: Protect Birds During Extreme Summer
With temperatures soaring across Rajasthan, the campaign focuses on:
- Providing accessible water sources for birds
- Supporting small animals during heat stress
- Promoting community-driven environmental action
The administration emphasized that even small efforts by citizens can play a crucial role in biodiversity protection and climate resilience.
Administration’s Appeal to Citizens
Collector Soni appealed to residents to:
- Install water pots at homes, offices, and public spaces
- Regularly refill them to ensure continuous availability
- Encourage community participation to scale the initiative
He highlighted that collective responsibility is key to protecting urban wildlife during extreme weather.

According to Project Director Ramavatar Bhardwaj, the campaign is being supported by a local environmental initiative operating from Karanasar.
