In recent days, we have witnessed both the strength and restraint of our nation. First and foremost, I salute India's valiant armed forces, intelligence agencies, scientists, and every Indian citizen. Our brave soldiers have displayed immense courage in achieving the objectives of 'Operation Sindoor'. I dedicate their valor, bravery, and heroism to every mother, sister, and daughter of our country.
Fellow Citizens,
The barbarity displayed by terrorists in Pahalgam on April 22 shook the nation and the world. Innocent civilians on vacation were brutally killed after being asked their religion, in front of their families and children. This was a heinous attempt to disrupt the harmony of our country. Personally, this attack caused me immense pain. In response, the entire nation—every citizen, community, political party—stood united, demanding strict action against terrorism. We gave our armed forces complete freedom to eliminate the terrorists. Now, every terrorist and terror organization knows the consequences of removing the 'sindoor' from our sisters' foreheads.
Fellow Citizens,
'Operation Sindoor' is not just a name; it reflects the emotions of millions of Indians. It is an unwavering pledge for justice. On the night of May 6 and the morning of May 7, the world witnessed this pledge turning into action. Our armed forces precisely targeted terrorist hideouts and training centers in Pakistan. The terrorists never imagined that India could take such a significant decision. But when the nation is united, filled with the spirit of 'Nation First', and prioritizes the nation above all, decisive actions are taken, and results are achieved.
When India's missiles and drones attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan, not only were their buildings destroyed, but their morale was also shattered. Terrorist hubs like Bahawalpur and Muridke, which have been global centers of terrorism, were targeted. Many major terrorist attacks worldwide, including 9/11, the London Tube bombings, and several attacks in India over the decades, have links to these bases. Since the terrorists desecrated the 'sindoor' of our sisters, India demolished these headquarters of terror. In these attacks, over 100 dangerous terrorists were eliminated. Many masterminds who had been openly operating in Pakistan for the past 25-30 years, conspiring against India, were neutralized in one swift move.
Fellow Citizens,
Pakistan, engulfed in deep despair and frustration due to India's actions, resorted to another misadventure. Instead of supporting India's action against terrorism, Pakistan began attacking India. They targeted our schools, colleges, gurdwaras, temples, and civilian homes, as well as our military installations. However, Pakistan was exposed in this aggression.
The world saw how Pakistan's drones and missiles were shattered like twigs in front of India. Our robust air defense systems destroyed them in the sky itself. While Pakistan prepared for a border war, India struck at the heart of Pakistan. Our drones and missiles attacked with precision, damaging Pakistani airbases that they were proud of. Within the first three days, India inflicted such devastation on Pakistan that they couldn't have imagined.
Consequently, after India's aggressive actions, Pakistan began seeking ways to de-escalate. They appealed globally to reduce tensions. After suffering significant losses, on the afternoon of May 10, the Pakistani army contacted our Director General of Military Operations (DGMO). By then, we had already destroyed the infrastructure of terrorism on a large scale, eliminated terrorists, and turned their terror bases into ruins. Therefore, when Pakistan pleaded, stating they would not engage in any further terrorist activities or military misadventures, India considered their appeal. I reiterate, we have only suspended our retaliatory actions against Pakistan's terrorist and military targets. In the coming days, we will assess Pakistan's every move to determine their approach.
Fellow Citizens,
India's three armed forces—Air Force, Army, and Navy—along with our Border Security Force (BSF) and paramilitary forces, remain on high alert. After surgical strikes and air strikes, 'Operation Sindoor' has become India's policy against terrorism. It has set a new benchmark, a new normal in the fight against terror.
Firstly, any terrorist attack on India will be met with a befitting reply. We will respond on our terms, in our way, and take strict action wherever the roots of terrorism lie.
Secondly, India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail. Under the guise of nuclear threats, if terrorist bases flourish, India will strike them with precision and decisiveness.
Thirdly, we will not differentiate between the government supporting terrorism and the masterminds of terror. During 'Operation Sindoor', the world witnessed the ugly truth of Pakistan when senior Pakistani military officers attended the funerals of killed terrorists. This is substantial evidence of state-sponsored terrorism. We will continue to take decisive steps to protect India and its citizens from any threats.
Fellow Citizens,
On the battlefield, we have always defeated Pakistan. This time, 'Operation Sindoor' has added a new dimension. We showcased our capabilities in deserts and mountains and proved our superiority in new-age warfare. During this operation, the effectiveness of our 'Made in India' weapons was demonstrated. The world now sees that in 21st-century warfare, the time has come for 'Made in India' defense equipment.
Fellow Citizens,
Our unity against all forms of terrorism is our greatest strength. Certainly, this era is not one of war, but it is also not an era of terrorism. Zero tolerance against terrorism is a guarantee for a better world.
The Pakistani army and government, by nurturing terrorism, are paving the way for their own destruction. If Pakistan wants to survive, it must dismantle its terror infrastructure. There is no other path to peace. India's stance is clear: terror and talks cannot go together; terror and trade cannot go together; and water and blood cannot flow together.
Today is Buddha Purnima. Lord Buddha showed us the path of peace. The path of peace also goes through strength. For humanity, peace, and prosperity to advance, and for every Indian to live peacefully and fulfill the dream of a developed India, it is essential for India to be powerful and, when necessary, to use this power. In recent days, India has done just that.
Once again, I salute India's army and armed forces. I bow to the courage and unity of every Indian citizen.
