Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today said that the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 can only be achieved through public participation, innovation, entrepreneurship and collective resolve, while urging young people and entrepreneurs to take a leading role in India's development journey.
Addressing the national conference on “Maheshwari Samaj and Building Viksit Bharat 2047” in New Delhi, Mr. Birla stressed that entrepreneurship and nation-building must progress together to ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society. He said India’s march towards becoming a developed nation must be driven by inclusive growth, social responsibility and active citizen participation.
Describing the Maheshwari community as a significant force in India’s economic and social development, the Lok Sabha Speaker said the community has made invaluable contributions to nation-building through service, ethical business practices, philanthropy and social responsibility. He noted that the community has consistently worked for social welfare through initiatives in education, healthcare, public service and charitable activities.
Highlighting the entrepreneurial legacy of the community, Mr. Birla said Maheshwari entrepreneurs have contributed to economic transformation across the country by creating opportunities, generating employment and strengthening local economies. He added that their commitment to integrity, ethical conduct and social harmony has set exemplary standards in business.
The Speaker said the true measure of success should not be limited to wealth creation but should also focus on value creation and positive social impact. He praised noted entrepreneur Anand Rathi for his inspiring business journey and lauded Justice J.K. Maheshwari for his contributions to strengthening the judicial system and advancing judicial reforms.
Emphasising the role of youth in shaping India's future, Mr. Birla said educated, skilled and technology-driven young people are the country's greatest strength in achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. He encouraged the younger generation to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to position India as a global leader in the coming decades. He also urged youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.
