Jaipur, February 11, 2026 — Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari, while presenting Budget 2026, announced a series of social, women empowerment, education and defence-welfare initiatives aimed at inclusive growth and grassroots development.
Women Empowerment & Rural Economy
The government has brought over 16 lakh women into the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ category and further strengthened the scheme by increasing the loan limit to ₹1.5 lakh under interest subsidy to promote women entrepreneurship.
To generate employment and strengthen rural income, Rural Women BPOs will be set up at the district level with a proposed outlay of ₹100 crore, creating new livelihood opportunities for women in villages.
Defence Welfare Initiatives
In a major step towards supporting defence communities, the state announced Integrated Military Complexes in 8 districts — Jodhpur, Phalodi, Khairthal, Beawar, Tonk, Shergarh, Jhunjhunu and Sri Ganganagar. Construction in the first phase will begin in Jodhpur, Tonk, Shergarh and Jhunjhunu with ₹36 crore allocation.
Additionally, the government increased annual scholarship for children of soldiers martyred or permanently disabled after April 1, 1999 (post-Kargil) to ₹2,500.
Education Transformation
The budget proposes to upgrade 400 schools into ‘RISE – Rajasthan Innovative School of Excellence’ with a major investment of ₹1,000 crore. These schools will feature smart classrooms, career counselling and advanced laboratories to enhance learning outcomes and future readiness.
Child Development & Anganwadi Modernisation
To strengthen early childhood development, the government allocated ₹323 crore for 22,746 Anganwadi centres. Under the ‘Jadui Pitara’ initiative, centres will receive modern learning kits, play materials and child-development resources, helping modernise grassroots childcare and education infrastructure.
