Jaipur, April 25, 2026: Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Friday addressed probationary IAS officers of the 2024 batch at a farewell session held at Harish Chandra Mathur Rajasthan State Institute of Public Administration, emphasising that their training will serve as the foundation for efficient and sensitive governance.
Speaking ahead of their final phase of training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Srinivas urged the officers to complete the upcoming four-month programme with full dedication. He noted that the training will play a critical role when they assume responsibilities as Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) in August 2026, particularly in enabling them to make effective and empathetic administrative decisions.
The Chief Secretary highlighted that administrative training is not limited to procedural knowledge but is central to developing decision-making capability, responsiveness, and accountability at the district level.
Director General Shreya Guha presented an overview of the probationers’ district training reports and their presentations on the state government’s flagship schemes. She described HCM RIPA as a leading state-level training institution and outlined its role in preparing officers for real-world governance challenges.
Guha also shared her interactions with the officers, encouraging them to uphold the highest standards of public service as they transition into field roles.
During the session, probationary officers presented insights from their district training, highlighting implementation challenges in key development schemes and offering innovative approaches to governance. They noted that field exposure helped them understand grassroots administrative systems and directly engage with public grievances.
Senior IAS officers Hemant Gera, Ambrish Kumar, and Samit Sharma also addressed the gathering, extending their best wishes to the officers as they prepare to take on their upcoming administrative roles.
With the transition to SDM positions expected in August, the performance and preparedness of this batch will directly influence district-level governance outcomes across Rajasthan. The final phase of training at Mussoorie is expected to refine their administrative approach before they take charge in the field.
