Jaipur: Ahead of the 78th Army Day celebrations, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday inaugurated the four-day ‘Know Your Army’ exhibition at the Bhawani Niketan Education Committee campus in Jaipur. A grand Army Day Parade is scheduled to be held in the city on January 15.
During the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected modern military equipment and weaponry showcased by the Indian Army. Addressing the gathering, he said the exhibition provides valuable insight into cutting-edge defence technology and contemporary warfare techniques, enabling citizens to better understand the Army’s constant vigilance in safeguarding the nation.
Mr. Sharma highlighted that, for the first time, the Army Day Parade is being organised in Jaipur, outside traditional military cantonment areas. He noted that the parade will offer citizens a rare opportunity to witness the discipline, valour, sacrifice, and operational strength of the Indian Army.
The Chief Minister further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the modernisation of India’s armed forces has advanced at an unprecedented pace. He emphasised that defence indigenisation has been prioritised under the Make in India and Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiatives.
The inauguration ceremony featured live demonstrations by the Army’s mechanised forces, paragliding and skydiving teams, dog squad, and other specialised units. The exhibition aims to showcase the Army’s work culture, technological capabilities, and operational preparedness.
The exhibition will remain open to the public for five days, from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, displaying missiles, drones, tanks, and weapons used during Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, rehearsals for the Army Day Parade are underway in Jagatpura since January 1 and are open for public viewing.
