Jhalawar, Feb 14: In a shocking incident that has raised serious questions over police integrity, a constable of the Rajasthan Police was dismissed from service after it was revealed that he had invited smugglers and active criminals to his wedding समारोह.
The dismissed constable, Ashok Bishnoi, was posted at Bhalta police station in Jhalawar district. Action was taken after Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar received a confidential complaint alleging the presence of criminals at the wedding held on February 1 and 2 in Nagaur district.
Following the complaint, a detailed inquiry was assigned to the Pirawa Deputy Superintendent. Preliminary investigation and technical evidence confirmed that eight active criminals, including smugglers from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, had attended the wedding समारोह.
During the probe, it also surfaced that one Pappu Tanwar was present at the function. He had earlier faced action by the Forest Department in the Aklara region for encroachment, and his property had been frozen under provisions of the NDPS Act as allegedly illegally acquired assets.
Taking the matter seriously, the police department adopted a strict stance and terminated the constable from service. Officials stated that any form of association with criminals would not be tolerated, emphasizing that maintaining the credibility, neutrality, and public trust of the police force remains paramount.
