A shocking incident has come to light in Jaipur where a young woman was allegedly raped by her acquaintance after being lured under the pretext of marriage. The case has been registered at the Mahesh Nagar Police Station.
According to police, the victim, a 24-year-old woman from Tonk district, was residing in Jaipur for her studies. She reportedly met the accused through social media a few months ago. As their interaction grew, the accused befriended her and began talking about marriage.
On September 29, he allegedly called her to meet him at a PG hostel in the Mahesh Nagar area, where he forced her into a physical relationship. When the woman resisted, he reportedly assured her that he would marry her soon. However, later he refused to marry her and verbally abused her.
After the incident, the victim filed a complaint at the Mahesh Nagar Police Station, following which an FIR was registered against the accused.
ACP (Sodala) Yogesh Chaudhary is leading the investigation. Police have begun searching for the accused and stated that preliminary findings indicate the case involves sexual assault under the false promise of marriage. Authorities have assured that the accused will be arrested soon.
