Bhopal, March 18, 2026: Highlighting the economic and social impact of improved connectivity, Rajendra Shukla said that the newly introduced Rewa–Raipur air service will significantly boost development and bring regions closer.
During his two-day visit to Raipur, the Deputy Chief Minister participated in multiple religious and social engagements, including a visit to a prominent temple on VIP Road and a community felicitation event organized by the Vindhya society.
Air Connectivity to Drive Trade, Jobs, and Accessibility
Emphasizing infrastructure as a key driver of growth, Shukla stated that efficient air, road, and rail networks are essential for regional development. He noted that prior air routes connecting Rewa with Delhi and Indore have already contributed to improved business and employment opportunities.
The newly operational Rewa–Raipur flight route is expected to:
Reduce travel time significantly
Improve inter-state accessibility
Support trade and investment flows
Enhance employment prospects in both regions
Push for Expanded Rail Connectivity
Shukla also assured that efforts are underway to introduce a rail service between Rewa and Durg, further strengthening multi-modal connectivity across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

At the event, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal emphasized that the new air route will not only reduce physical distance but also strengthen cultural and emotional ties between the two states.
Similarly, Kiran Singh Deo termed the initiative a significant step toward seamless mobility, making travel more convenient for residents and businesses alike.
