Jaipur, March 9: Rajasthan Public Health Engineering Minister Kanhaiya Lal informed the Assembly on Monday that 162 villages in the Dholpur Assembly constituency will receive tap water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Replying to a calling attention motion raised by MLA Shobharani Kushwah, the minister said the villages will be covered through 42 small water supply schemes benefiting 54 villages and three major projects covering 108 villages, approved in state-level meetings.
Among the major projects, the Rajakhera Drinking Water Project will cover 22 villages, the Kalitir Drinking Water Project will benefit 19 villages, and the Chambal–Dholpur–Bharatpur Drinking Water Project will provide water to 67 villages. Work orders for the Chambal–Dholpur–Bharatpur project have already been issued and implementation is currently underway.
Kanhaiya Lal said that 14 of the 42 approved small schemes have been completed, while 28 projects are still in progress and are expected to be finished soon.
He added that 89.74 kilometres of roads were dug up during pipeline laying, and the damaged roads have since been repaired.
