The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened applications for UGC NET 2026, inviting candidates to apply for eligibility in Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) roles across India. The application process began on April 29, 2026, and will remain open until May 20, 2026.
According to the official notification, candidates must complete both registration and fee payment by May 20. A correction window will be available from May 22 to May 24, allowing applicants to make necessary changes to their forms.
The exam city details are expected to be released by June 10, while admit cards will be issued by June 15. The UGC NET 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted between June 22 and June 30 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
This year, the application process has been integrated with the government’s “Meri Pehchan” single sign-on system, enabling faster login, a simplified application experience, and unified access across multiple government services.
The exam will cover 87 subjects, and candidates are required to submit only one application form. Aspirants are advised to follow official guidelines carefully and complete their application well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
For further details, candidates can visit the official NTA website or contact the helpdesk.
