New Delhi, June 22, 2026: In a significant step towards strengthening transparency, efficiency, and digital transformation in the cooperative and agricultural sectors, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah will launch NAFED’s auction portal NAFEX.in on June 23, 2026, at the Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi.
The event will also be attended by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with NAFED Chairman Shri Jethabhai Ahir, Managing Director Shri Deepak Agarwal, and other senior officials.
Key Digital and Farmer-Centric Initiatives to be Launched
During the programme, Shri Amit Shah will inaugurate several important initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and farmer welfare, including:
NAFED-KALYAN Scholarship Scheme for children of farmers
DRISHTI Inventory Management Portal for effective management of pulses and oilseeds stocks
ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Portal to strengthen organizational resource management and operational integration
NAFEX.in Auction Portal, a digital platform designed to streamline agricultural commodity auctions
A live demonstration of the registration process and auction operations on NAFEX.in will also be conducted during the event.
NAFEX.in to Enhance Transparency and Efficiency in Agricultural Auctions
The launch of NAFEX.in marks a major milestone in NAFED’s digital transformation journey. The platform is designed to improve transparency, operational efficiency, and ease of doing business in the auction process. By digitizing auction-related activities, NAFEX.in will provide a robust and accessible platform for farmers, member institutions, and other stakeholders, ensuring a more efficient and accountable system.
Supporting Education Through NAFED-KALYAN Scholarship
As part of the programme, Shri Amit Shah will distribute scholarship cheques to beneficiaries under the NAFED-KALYAN Scholarship Scheme. The initiative reflects NAFED’s commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of farmers’ children and promoting inclusive rural development.
Review of NAFED’s Progress and Future Roadmap
Following the launch event, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister will meet members of NAFED’s Board of Directors. During the meeting, NAFED will present an overview of its ongoing activities, progress achieved, implementation of directives issued during the Minister’s previous visit, and its strategic roadmap for future growth and development.
Advancing the Vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’
NAFED plays a pivotal role in agricultural marketing, procurement, and cooperative-based agri-trade in India. The launch of these digital and welfare initiatives aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation) and reinforces the Government’s efforts to empower cooperative institutions through technology adoption, transparency, and farmer-centric reforms.
