MUMBAI, INDIA – November 28, 2025 – Zee TV surged back to the No. 1 position among Hindi general entertainment channels this week, capturing 21.3% audience share, according to the latest BARC ratings released Thursday.
The comeback is powered by the continued dominance of daily soaps Anupamaa (12.8 TVR) and Kumkum Bhagya (11.4 TVR), alongside the strong performance of new weekend fiction block featuring Pavitra Rishta 2.0 and Punyi Pukar.
Industry sources confirm the network invested heavily in high-decibel promotions during the festive season and introduced fresh story tracks involving family reunions and wedding sequences that resonated deeply with urban and rural households alike.
Zee TV’s fiction head attributed the turnaround to “relatable storytelling and powerhouse performances,” particularly citing the emotional confrontation episodes between lead characters that trended across social platforms.
The channel’s regional arms — Zee Marathi, Zee Bangla, and Zee Kannada — also posted double-digit growth, collectively pushing the network’s overall share to its highest in 18 months.
Competitors acknowledged the aggressive content push, with one senior executive calling it “a textbook example of how strong primetime fiction can move the needle overnight.”
With the wedding season underway, Zee TV has lined up three major track twists in December, expected to further widen the gap.
