VARANASI / CHANDAULI (UTTAR PRADESH) — As per TOI News, A 12-year-old girl from Bihar was allegedly sold by her mother for ₹16,000 and ten saris to a 40-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli district. Police said the girl was then subjected to repeated rape after a fake temple marriage.
The accused later allegedly abandoned her in Varanasi, where an auto-rickshaw driver also sexually assaulted her before she was rescued by local residents. Police have arrested three people in connection with the case.
