New Delhi: The 3rd National Educational Research Championship 2026 was organized by the Department of Educational Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia on 8th May 2026 in the Conference Hall of the School of Education building. A total of 27 registrations were received from various universities across India, with nine (9) teams ultimately participating in this prestigious national-level event. The major participating universities included Jamia Millia Islamia, Indira Gandhi National Open University, University of Allahabad, Amity University, University of Kashmir, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, and Delhi Teachers’ University.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Aejaz Masih, Head of DES, followed by the keynote address of Prof. Arshad Ikram Ahmad, former Head of DES. Prof. Kaushal Kishore served as the lead Quiz Master, assisted by Dr. Sameer Babu M and Dr. Ali Haider. The championship comprised two initial screening rounds, followed by engaging final rounds such as Double Trouble, Rapid Fire, Error Mapping, Understanding Software, Match the Frame, Statistical Reasoning, Choose Your Sample, and Memory Mega.
The event was marked by enthusiastic participation, not only from the competing teams but also from the audience, who were given opportunities to contribute. NIEPA secured the Championship Trophy, while the University of Allahabad won the Runner’s Trophy, and IGNOU achieved third place. All participating teams were awarded certificates. The valedictory session was presided over by Prof. Anita Rastogi, Dean, Faculty of Education. The National Educational Research Championship holds significant relevance as it fosters a culture of academic inquiry, collaboration, and innovation among emerging scholars. By engaging participants in rigorous rounds that test research knowledge, methodological skills, and analytical reasoning, the championship strengthens the research ecosystem in education.
