New Delhi/Jaipur, April 6, 2026:
The Bikaner House Management Society (BHMS) celebrated its 10th anniversary with a grand event titled “Bikaner House: Ten Years Together”, marking a decade of efforts to transform New Delhi’s historic Bikaner House into a vibrant hub of Rajasthani art, culture, and heritage.
Formed by the Rajasthan government a decade ago, BHMS was tasked with turning Bikaner House into a live showcase of the state’s artistic legacy and historical richness for audiences from India and abroad. Over the years, the venue has evolved into a dynamic public and cultural centre, widely regarded as a gateway to Rajasthan’s cultural identity in the national capital.
The anniversary celebrations began with an in-house archival exhibition titled “Through the Years: Celebrating a Decade of Art, Culture and Heritage,” offering a visual journey through the key milestones, events, and cultural showcases hosted by BHMS over the past ten years.
The event also featured the launch of the commemorative book “Bikaner House: A Decade of Resonance,” followed by an evening of folk performances and cultural presentations that brought alive Rajasthan’s vibrant traditions.
The programme was inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Secretary and Chief Resident Commissioner V. Srinivas, along with other dignitaries, through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the formal release of the anniversary publication.
Officials said the exhibition was designed not merely as an institutional retrospective, but as an evolving dialogue between continuity, change, architecture, memory, and cultural expression, reflecting the journey of Bikaner House itself.
As part of the 10th anniversary events, a student painting competition was organised, while a photography exhibition titled “Soul of Rajasthan” was curated by Gallery Wonderwall.
Originally built in 1929 at the historic Princes Park as the residence of the rulers of the princely state of Bikaner, the iconic structure has undergone a remarkable transformation—from a royal residence to a thriving public space for cultural dialogue and heritage engagement.
