Huzurabad, Karimnagar: In a major crackdown on local corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught Nusum Sudhakar Reddy, an Assistant Engineer (AE) with the Municipal Administration Department, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹50,000.
The Incident
The trap was laid at the RTC Depot Chowrastha on April 15, 2026. According to ACB officials, Reddy demanded the illegal gratification from a complainant to perform an official favor: recording the Measurement Book (M-Book) and processing the final bill for completed storm water drain work within Huzurabad Municipality limits.
The Arrest
The ACB Karimnagar Unit recovered the tainted bribe amount from the officer's possession at the scene. Officials stated that the AE performed his duties "improperly and dishonestly" to obtain an undue advantage.
Legal Action
The Accused Officer (AO) has been arrested and is being produced before the Honorable Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases in Karimnagar. The investigation is currently ongoing.
