As part of the Sardar@150 celebrations, a grand district-level Unity March was organised in Jodhpur on Tuesday, reflecting the spirit of national integration and collective pride. The march was flagged off from the Collectorate premises by Chief Guest and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Rajendra Gehlot, District Council CEO Shri Ashish Kumar Mishra, and BSF Acting Commandant Shri Ajay Kumar Saran. The march concluded at Circuit House.
Prior to the march, the event commenced with the collective singing of Vande Mataram followed by floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Rajya Sabha MP Administers Oath for a Self-Reliant and Drug-Free India
Addressing the youth, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Rajendra Gehlot administered an oath for building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and encouraged participants to commit to a drug-free life. He said that Sardar Patel’s vision of unifying India’s princely states to create ‘Ek Bharat’ must be carried forward by the new generation.
Folk Artists Infuse the March With Patriotic Spirit
Before the march began, renowned local folk artist Sikandar Khan and his Langa troupe energised the atmosphere with patriotic musical performances, setting a powerful tone of nationalism.
Aim: Strengthening National Pride and Public Participation
Deputy Director of My Youth India, Shri Rajesh Chaudhary, highlighted that the initiative aims to instill national pride, social responsibility, and a sense of unity and integrity among youth. He shared that the programme aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, emphasising Jan Bhagidari (public participation) and the transformative role of the Amrit Peedhi, the youth of today.
He also informed that the Sardar@150 Unity March began on 6 October as a nationwide programme dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
City Echoes With Patriotic Chants; March Concludes With Enthusiasm
The march, which began at the Collectorate and concluded at Circuit House, reverberated with patriotic slogans and chants of Sardar Patel, turning the entire route into a corridor of national pride.
At the closing ceremony, Pokaran MLA Mahant Pratap Puri, along with Shri Gehlot, offered floral tributes to Sardar Patel and motivated the participants.

The event witnessed the presence of Shri Bharat Vaishnav, Shri Ravi Gehlot, Shri Manish Purohit, Shri Varun Dhanadiya, Shri Shubham Hans, Shri Narayan Singh, Shri Kan Singh, Shri Jasarām, Usha Mankalav, Shri Ishwar Chandra Sharma, Inspector Shri Naveen Kumar, Inspector Shri Pankaj Kumar Singh, representatives from ITI Jodhpur Narendra Gaur and Yogendra, trainee jawans, Rajasthan Police Training Centre trainees, ICDS women groups, and a large number of youth and citizens.
