Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the State has witnessed a new momentum of development during two years of good governance. In this series of transformative initiatives, the Chief Minister has approved development projects worth ₹107.32 crore for Kunkuri Nagar Panchayat in Jashpur district, marking a historic milestone in the town’s growth.
These projects are expected to bring long-term and comprehensive improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, sports, tourism, transportation, and civic amenities, significantly transforming the urban landscape of Kunkuri.
Major Development Initiatives
To provide modern sports facilities to the youth, approval has been granted for the construction of an Integrated Sports Complex at a cost of ₹63.84 crore. The facility will serve as a major platform for nurturing regional sporting talent.
Fulfilling commitments made to the public, the Chief Minister has sanctioned ₹5 crore for 53 development works within the Nagar Panchayat area. These projects will strengthen basic infrastructure across various wards and localities and enhance the quality of civic services.
Boost to Healthcare, Tourism, and Culture
In the healthcare sector, a Naturopathy Building will be constructed at a cost of ₹2.62 crore, promoting naturopathy, Ayurveda, and yoga, and providing citizens with improved alternative healthcare services.
To strengthen tourism and religious activities, ₹5.17 crore has been approved for the comprehensive development of the Chhath Ghat. Beautification and infrastructure development at the ghat are expected to boost local tourism and economic activity.
For cultural and social engagement, an ultra-modern multi-purpose auditorium will be constructed at a cost of ₹6.67 crore, providing a new platform for cultural, artistic, and community events.
Strengthening Education and Urban Mobility
To reinforce educational infrastructure, approval has been granted for the expansion of the Nalanda Campus with a 250-seat capacity at a cost of ₹4.37 crore, ensuring a better academic environment for students.
Urban transportation will be strengthened through the construction of a hi-tech bus stand costing ₹7.26 crore, offering modern amenities for passengers and improving traffic management.
Improved Civic Amenities and Urban Safety
For children’s recreation and safety, a Recreation Children’s Park will be developed at a cost of ₹1.02 crore. Additionally, ₹6 crore has been approved for the installation of LED street lights and other development works across Wards 1 to 15, ensuring improved illumination and enhanced public safety.

Through these initiatives, Kunkuri Nagar is rapidly emerging as a model town equipped with smart infrastructure, improved healthcare services, strengthened education systems, modern transportation, and vibrant cultural spaces.
