The state’s paddy procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP) began today. At the Palli Paddy Procurement Centre in Bastar district, Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap formally inaugurated the 2025–26 procurement season with traditional rituals and prayers. He conveyed his best wishes to farmers and hoped for a smooth and successful procurement season.
Minister Reviews Facilities at the Centre
During the inspection, Minister Kashyap reviewed key arrangements at the centre, including weighing facilities, scales and measures, storage systems, farmer registration, quality testing, and security arrangements.
He instructed officials to ensure that farmers face no inconvenience during the sale of paddy and that the entire procurement process remains transparent.
State Government Committed to Fair Price for Farmers
Minister Kashyap said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is committed to ensuring farmers receive the rightful value for their hard work.
He appealed to farmers to visit their respective cooperative societies for paddy sale on the date mentioned in their issued tokens.
The Minister also directed officials to ensure arrangements for drinking water and shade at the procurement centres for farmers’ convenience.
Procurement Window: 15 November 2025 to 31 January 2026
Minister Kashyap informed that paddy procurement will continue from 15 November 2025 to 31 January 2026. He instructed authorities to ensure that no farmer faces any difficulty at the centre.
As the procurement began, farmers expressed enthusiasm, and officials and staff remained actively engaged in smoothly managing the activity.
District Food Officer, officers of the Cooperation Department, and other staff members were present on the occasion.
