Jaipur, April 1, 2026: Ahead of the Kharif 2026-27 sowing season, Rajasthan has launched a statewide special enforcement and quality control campaign on fertilisers, aimed at ensuring farmers receive timely supplies of standard-quality fertilisers with transparent distribution.
The month-long drive, running from March 29 to April 30, 2026, was announced by Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal.
The campaign places strict surveillance on fertiliser dealers, with officials carrying out surprise inspections, warehouse checks, and point-of-sale (POS) stock verification to detect irregularities in real time.
A major focus area is preventing the diversion of subsidised urea for non-agricultural and industrial use. During inspections, teams will match:
- stock register entries
- POS machine records
- actual physical stock at dealer outlets and warehouses
This reconciliation process is aimed at identifying any mismatch, hoarding, black marketing, or misuse of fertiliser stocks.
Officials said that if any violation of the Fertiliser Control Order, 1985 is found, strict action will be taken under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 against the concerned dealer.
At the district level, Joint Directors of Agriculture have assigned sub-divisional and block inspectors specific zones for intensive monitoring. Inspection teams are also conducting checks at industrial units, fertiliser dealerships, and storage godowns.
As part of the quality assurance process, teams will collect samples of agricultural and technical-grade urea from each unit and send them to laboratories for analysis to ensure quality standards are maintained.
