Imphal, India – May 2, 2026 : In a major counter-insurgency operation, Indian security forces seized 18 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district today. Simultaneously, a separate operation in the Ukhrul district led to the destruction of 23 illegally constructed bunkers used by militant factions.
A statement from the Manipur Police confirmed that the IEDs were found concealed along a route frequently used by security patrols. The destruction of the bunkers is part of an ongoing drive to dismantle the infrastructure of ethnic armed groups in the region following renewed tensions. No arrests were made during the raids, but search operations are continuing in the forested border areas.
