India's higher education is entering a "transformative era" demanding continuous adaptation to new economy demands, tech advances, and youth aspirations, declares D N V Kumara Guru, Chairman of CII NR Education Committee, in the preface to the joint CII-Grant Thornton report.
Under Guru's leadership – alongside co-chair Vinay Kumar Swamy of Pearson India – the document explores NEP 2020's realization through academia-industry dialogues on innovative pedagogy, skills-employability links, and HEI preparedness. "The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 provides a powerful vision for this transformation, and this document explores how that vision is being realised," Guru writes.
It emerges as "both a testament to the progress already being made and a guide for the road ahead," inspiring "continued collaboration and collective action" via practical pathways for resilient institutions. Gratitude extends to CII Education Committee members for insights shaping this enriched content.
"The demands of a new economy, rapid technological advancements, and the aspirations of our young population require Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to embark on a continuous journey of improvement and adaptation," Guru emphasizes, framing the report as a catalyst for agile, connected ecosystems.
