An inspector of the Uttar Pradesh Police has been arrested after an Anti-Corruption Team caught him red-handed while accepting a bribe. The team had set a trap following a complaint that the inspector was demanding money to settle a case.
According to the information, the Anti-Corruption Unit in Bareilly laid the trap under the leadership of Circle Officer Nishant Gunjan. The complainant, Rinku Yadav, had alleged that the inspector was demanding ₹10,000 to resolve a matter. Acting on the complaint, the Anti-Corruption Team verified the allegations and planned the raid.
During the operation, the team caught the inspector taking the bribe money. Following the arrest, officials stated that strict legal action will be taken, and the recovery has been documented as evidence.
The arrested inspector has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to determine if he was involved in similar activities earlier.
