Shivpuri | April 17, 2026: Five people were injured after an SUV allegedly driven by Dinesh Lodhi, son of BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi, rammed into a motorcycle and pedestrians in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, police said.
Accident details
The incident occurred around 7:30 pm in Karera area, when the SUV — reportedly a Mahindra Thar — first hit a motorcycle carrying three युवक:
- Sanjay Parihar (seriously injured)
- Ashish
- Anshul Parihar
The vehicle then struck two women pedestrians, identified as Sita Verma and Pooja Soni, who were walking along the same road.
All injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
Video surfaces, accused blames victims
A video from the scene has gone viral, showing Dinesh Lodhi arguing with bystanders and blaming the victims for not giving way.
He is heard saying:
“Siren de raha hu, lehra kyu rahe? (I was giving a siren, why were they swerving?)”
He was also seen asking people not to record him.
Case registered under BNS
Police have booked the आरोपी under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for rash and negligent driving endangering human life.
- Offence is cognisable and bailable
- Punishable with up to 6 months imprisonment or fine or both
Karera police said the matter is under investigation.
MLA reacts
MLA Pritam Lodhi said that law should take its course and justice must be delivered to the victims.
