New Delhi:
The NDR unit of the Delhi Crime Branch has arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a sensational robbery and assault case registered at Dwarka Sector 23 police station.
The accused had been absconding since 2020 and was finally apprehended from Purnia following sustained surveillance and technical tracking by the Crime Branch team.
According to officials, the case involved a brutal robbery in which the victim was allegedly:
- assaulted with sticks,
- robbed at knife-point of ₹11 lakh,
- and forced to sign documents under threat.
Police said the accused had been declared a proclaimed offender by the court and had remained on the run for nearly six years before being traced and arrested.
The operation was carried out by teams led by Inspectors Yogesh and Vinod Yadav under the guidance of ACP Umesh Barthwal and the overall supervision of DCP Pankaj Kumar.
Delhi Police described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in a long-pending criminal case involving violent robbery and intimidation.
