Bhadradri Kothagudem (Telangana), April 30. The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a Forest Beat Officer for accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 in connection with a land-related matter in Gundala Forest Range.
The accused, Banoth Naresh, posted as Forest Beat Officer at Nadimigudem and In-Charge of Sayanapalli, was caught red-handed at his office in Gundala while demanding and accepting the bribe from a complainant. According to ACB officials, the bribe was sought in exchange for not interfering in the cultivation of five acres of Patta Podu land allotted to the complainant’s father by the government, located in Venkatpuram revenue village.
The ACB team recovered the tainted ₹10,000 from the possession of the accused during the operation. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway under relevant anti-corruption laws.
The agency has reiterated its appeal to citizens to report corruption through its toll-free helpline 1064 or via official digital platforms, assuring confidentiality of complainants.
