Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Shri Sumit Godara emphasized that the state government’s priority is to ensure that the benefits of food security schemes reach needy families with complete transparency. He directed officials to regularly monitor the implementation of schemes and ensure that ineligible beneficiaries exit voluntarily while eligible families continue to receive benefits.
The Minister held a review meeting with departmental officers at the Sikar Collectorate on Monday. Stressing the importance of making the “Give Up Campaign” a success, he informed that 1,55,311 units in Sikar district have so far voluntarily surrendered their eligibility under the food security scheme—a significant step toward transparency and public awareness.
Shri Godara instructed officials to motivate ineligible beneficiaries such as income tax payers, central and state government employees, four-wheeler owners, and families with an annual income above ₹1 lakh to voluntarily withdraw from the scheme. He made it clear that targeted progress must be ensured, and if ineligible persons still remain within the scheme, legal action should be taken against them. He also stressed linking the campaign with public awareness drives at both panchayat and urban levels.
The Minister directed that all pending cases must be resolved within a fixed timeframe, and approved applications must undergo random verification by district, sub-divisional, and development officers to identify ineligible entries in time.
Emphasizing the importance of Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC, he said that digital verification is key to ensuring transparency and targeted delivery of schemes.
During the meeting, Shri Godara also reviewed pending commission dues of ration dealers and unpaid transport bills sub-division wise, directing that all outstanding payments be cleared at the earliest for smooth functioning of the distribution system. He instructed that by October 31, the notification for creation of new fair price shops in the district must be completed, and awareness camps organized at the village level to identify ineligible beneficiaries. He warned that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
The Minister reviewed agenda items block-wise, including the status of fair price shops, NFSA ration card distribution, progress of the Give Up campaign, voluntarily surrendered units, total units, and the online status of surrendered beneficiaries, and issued necessary directions for further progress.
