Raipur, December 17, 2025 — The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly complex witnessed a rare blend of governance, literature, and travel as the travelogue “Meri Nazar Se Arunachal Pradesh” (Arunachal Pradesh Through My Eyes) was formally released on Wednesday.
The book has been authored by Dr. Avadhesh Mishra, State Editor of electronic TV channel BSTV, and is based on the Arunachal Pradesh visit undertaken by the Legislative Assembly’s Press Gallery Advisory Committee. The publication was jointly unveiled by Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.
Travel as Reflection, Not Escape
Addressing the gathering, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh underlined the deeper value of travel writing. He said journeys are not merely breaks from routine but powerful sources of renewal, learning, and perspective. Sharing a personal note, he recalled his long-standing interest in travel literature, inspired by the works of Rahul Sankrityayan.
Dr. Singh observed that well-written travelogues allow readers to experience geography, culture, and ways of life without leaving home. Congratulating Dr. Mishra, he described the book as a meaningful documentation of a collective journey—one that would also serve as a practical reference for future travellers. He added that India itself offers such vast natural beauty that one does not need to look beyond its borders, calling the Northeast a region defined by serenity, cultural depth, and environmental purity.
A Journey That Deserves to Be Told
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai termed the release a “memorable moment” and congratulated the journalists associated with the visit. He said taking an institutional journey to a state as scenic and culturally rich as Arunachal Pradesh, and then translating that experience into a book, was a commendable initiative.
Drawing from his own experience, the Chief Minister recalled visiting several Northeastern states during his tenure as a Union Minister. He noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the region has seen accelerated development and stronger national integration. Praising the author, he said the travelogue would act as a guide for tourists and inspire others to document their journeys with similar sensitivity and purpose.
Wide Presence from Political and Media Circles
The event was attended by Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, MLA Dharamlal Kaushik, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Pankaj Jha, Chhattisgarh Sahitya Parishad President Shashank Sharma, and senior journalists including Babulal Sharma, Krishna Das, and Yashwant Dhote, along with a large gathering of media professionals and intellectuals.
